As a child I always wondered why my parents forced me to go to the vineyard. Getting up there seemed useless and meaningless to me. Why rebuild that wall if a stone a little further away was already falling?
Dad and mom, however, worked as if nothing had happened and I imitated them without too much conviction.
At the end of the day, however, I looked up and saw Vernazza down there, lapped by the sea and the sunset.

When everyone abandoned the vineyard, my grandfather decided to replant it. He was an engineer but he loved his country and did not want to make its traditions disappear. When he passed away, we found an excel sheet on his computer, or as he called it "calculator". Each row is a year and four columns with the most important aspects of his life: family, health, work and the fussà vineyard.
